Life Transitions Counseling

In my work as a therapist, it is a privilege to share in clients’ life journeys and to help them develop adaptive coping strategies to deal with life transitions. These may include normal life transitions, such as going to college, sending a child away to school, getting married, having a baby, or aging. Or they may include unexpected life transitions, such as losing a job, coping with an illness, divorce, or sudden loss.

In our work together, I will help you learn how to tune in to your strengths and inner resources and help you to challenge the maladaptive thoughts and behaviors that, while perhaps sources of refuge in the short term, can cause us more harm than good in the long run.

We will explore resources such as resiliency, humor, optimism, meaning-making, connection with others, spirituality and self awareness. Life transitions are unavoidable and through our work together you will learn how to embrace change and grow through the process.
